I was reading in Revelation the letters to the 7 churches. Wow! Did God get right to the heart of it or what? I wonder if He wrote a letter to my home church, what would He say? I did find one specific phrase that He wrote/said to all 7 churches and I believe He would say it to every church that bears His Name. Check this out:
2:7"Are your ears awake? Listen. Listen to the Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the churches. (The Message) 2:17; 2:29; 3:6; 3:13; 3:22
Could this be what we need more of in our church or even in our personal walk with God? I do believe that the Holy Spirit speaks, but sometimes our "radio" is tuned to another frequency. If I miss everything else in life here on earth - I sure don't want to miss the Holy Spirit of God speaking into my life. I certainly don't want to be in a church that is not listening to the "Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the church".
Let's listen to Him for direction. Let's listen to Him for insight. Let's worship Him in Spirit and Truth! After all - Who created us? Who created the church?

- Dwayne Hicks became licensed as a Sales Associate in the state of Georgia in January, 2003. He joined his brother, Scotty Hicks at United Country West Georgia Realty one month later. Dwayne and his wife, Tina along with four children live near Roopville, just south of Carrollton. They are members of Southern Hills Christian Church - Carrollton, Georgia. Dwayne served 11 1/2 years as Associate Minister at First Christian Church in Carrollton. Dwayne earned a B.S. in Biblical Studies from Johnson Bible College as well as a M.Ed. in Guidance and Counseling from the State University of West Georgia.
